Its funny how you try to help people and their first reaction is to ignore you?!

On the way to work this morning I saw a woman carrying a shopping bag that was leaking some orangy stuff onto the pavement. Being the helpful citizen that I am, I decided to let her know. “Excuse me…” She noticed I was trying to get her attention but she chose to ignore me. “Maybe it’s because I’m a young black man” I think. Then I tried again, giving full info before it gets rejected again like Shaq on a high-school rookie. “Excuse me, there’s something in your bag leaking!” That got her attention. “Oh! Thanks. ” Unfortunately, I had carried on walking past her as I did not want her gratitude after that.

Maybe she thought I was trying to chat her up?! So much for being helpful.

Earlier on, I had forgotten to take my Oyster card out with me and did not realise this till I got to East Ham Underground station. I didn’t feel like wasting about £7 on a day return ticket to work so I called my wife to bring it to me at the station since we only lived about a 10 min drive away.

Well, I stopped-off at Cost Cutters to get some supplies for work and easily spent the £7 I was trying to save earlier. What the hell!? I did not even buy that much. They clearly need to change their name, cause the only thing they’re cutting is my wallet!

During my quiet time with the Lord I asked Him “Lord, can you please help me to govern the things I need to in my life?!”

It seemed that the answer He gave me was very quick and kinda caught me off-guard. He said “But I have already helped you. Its your turn to pull your weight now.” And immediately the Spirit reminded me of Genesis 1:28.

When God created us, He already gave us the power to govern every resource He put on the earth for us, we just need to learn where our place is and take dominion of our life. Of course, we still need to “cast our cares” on Him but in a way I see that as a way to let Him help us choose what to do in certain situations in our lives. After all, all wisdom comes from Him!
